BETRAYAL AT THE HOUSE ON THE GAME TOWER - Session 11

[ The GAME ALERT and map show on the screen of your phones— idols, you know what to do!

The Game Tower elevator doors are open to receive, and close once they have you in their confines and the broadcast monitors click on. You can keep an eye on the city further and further below you, as watch with your host's introduction to today's game.

At the very least it's not Mukuro's face on the screen this time. Instead it's Exael again, pigtails bouncing as she hops up from a grand low bow— it looks like they cut part of her broadcast spiel for you guys. With a showman's flair, she twirls and splays her arms as the camera zooms out to focus on a grand mansion, more Hollywood glamor than anything belonging in Tokyo.

"Summer has come to Tokyo, and so has the season's specialty: The Trial of Courage! Step right up, and charge right in because waiting won't help you at all! Here is a place even angels fear to tread! Azzy's very own, The House of Mirth and Betrayal! This place has a sordid past that casts a shadow as long as the valley of death, and soon our Idols will be adding their own pages to the tale!"

The elevator stops atop the central tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and then lurches unpleasantly, wrenching itself out of where elevators ought to go. The sudden movement jolts you, and when the doors open you spill out into into a room.

Hopefully, with not too much time missing. ]

UNDERGROUND LAKE

[ You enter the Underground Lake. Aren't you supposed to be in the Game Tower? What on earth is this lake doing here!? It looks like a slice of the ocean, trapped and with a deep pulling tide. You could be irresponsible and take a swim, and check where the current would drag you out to but that's certainly not the wise thing to do. There's a shovel nearby.

You can go West or North. ]

The floorboards slowly creak. Dust rises. Footprints appear on the dirty floor. And then, as they reach you, they are gone.

[staring curiously at the lake, before his attention is caught by the footprints. ghosts? his gaze lingers a bit too long, and his reflexes (oddly) dull. and then he glances back at Kuzuebiko.] ...ah, I'm sorry for being distracted.

[ Tilts his head up to look at him, tidying his hair— so his bangs and long locks block his peripheral vision. ]

A second apology. Sweet as words your words always are, they are not strictly necessary. There are better ways to show your sincerity than offering only your honeyed voice. It's a simple matter to play at the obedient, play-acting at doing what you are told so never will you be rejected.

[ Leaning in closer, his voice low, so his form takes up the whole of Persephone's field of vision. ]

Is that your purpose here, Persephone?

How would you wish me to show my sincerity, then? [eyes definitely on Kuzuebiko, wide. though he's also looking carefully at how Kuzuebiko is standing and how he has his weight distributed.] ...my purpose? I don't, ah, know what you mean.

[ HI ANUBIS, Kuzuebiko is like, hitting on Persephone, apparently. He's got great timing ]

Do you wish to simply avoid ever showing your true self, for the sake of acceptance? Or will you behave of your own volition, casting off your doll's casing.

[ One hand rests of Persephone's cheek— the other hand still holds his shovel thoughtlessly, like a man with an umbrella in the rain not a man holding a heavy bludgeon. ]

[Persephone leans up and winds his arms around his neck, letting the white silk of the wedding dress fall right next to his feet. to kiss him - and the heel of his boot 'apparently' catches the silk as his foot moves to steady him as he leans up.

trying to use his weight to get Kuzuebiko off-balance and drag them both into the lake.]

[ Shu wins the might roll by two points— he staggers but regains his balance, steadying himself with the shovel and digging it into the soft shores of the lake as an anchor.

Laughter overflows from his lips, bizarre and delighted: ]

Kakakaka! So there it is, just as I knew it would be! So you played your part, but could not handle it to the end— the second one acts not as you wish it, you are so ready to backstab! But no, this time I will do as I wish, taking no heed of others! Your last chance has been squandered, and you will be buried in darkness knowing this to be only your own fault!

[ Might roll versus, Shu is going to try to lift him up in his arms

[tries to get out of the way, but Kuzuebiko's grip is too strong, and he's just too slow. and when he's caught, stops struggling.]

[ehhh. on one hand Red wants to do it, and that's probably how the game should go... but on the other hand this one is actually cute unlike the ones that have been bad and God doesn't seem eager. he's already sacrificed a dude, too. anyway, eavesdropping.] I don't get anything it just said...
