BETRAYAL AT THE HOUSE ON THE GAME TOWER - Session 11

[ The GAME ALERT and map show on the screen of your phones— idols, you know what to do!

The Game Tower elevator doors are open to receive, and close once they have you in their confines and the broadcast monitors click on. You can keep an eye on the city further and further below you, as watch with your host's introduction to today's game.

At the very least it's not Mukuro's face on the screen this time. Instead it's Exael again, pigtails bouncing as she hops up from a grand low bow— it looks like they cut part of her broadcast spiel for you guys. With a showman's flair, she twirls and splays her arms as the camera zooms out to focus on a grand mansion, more Hollywood glamor than anything belonging in Tokyo.

"Summer has come to Tokyo, and so has the season's specialty: The Trial of Courage! Step right up, and charge right in because waiting won't help you at all! Here is a place even angels fear to tread! Azzy's very own, The House of Mirth and Betrayal! This place has a sordid past that casts a shadow as long as the valley of death, and soon our Idols will be adding their own pages to the tale!"

The elevator stops atop the central tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and then lurches unpleasantly, wrenching itself out of where elevators ought to go. The sudden movement jolts you, and when the doors open you spill out into into a room.

[ You enter the Attic. The air is thick with dust, as if no one's been here for a long, long time: underneath the lush shag rug, the floorboards creak under your feet as if ready to give way at any point. In fact, there may very well be holes that you can't see, indents in the rug too difficult to see past the the gaudy design, especially in the dim light. There is no light source in this room, but you can vaguely make out the contents: there's the shape of a bed with similarly gaudy design as the rug, with boxes and boxes of miscellaneous items, including creepy little porcelain dolls if you decide to open them. And this thing. If you thought the junk room was bad, well - it's honestly still pretty bad. This place looks like it was actually used for storage intentionally; even so, it's still pretty cluttered. Pull the curtains off several of the tall-standing objects in the room and you'll find full length mirrors or vanities or both, with boxes wherever there possibly can be. It looks like someone did use this room at some point for something entirely different, though - in the corner between the bed and the wall is a stack of pillows, empty alcohol bottles, and a broken lamp.

The only entrance is the way you came: north, to the junk room. It's a dead end.

To tread back to the entrance, you'll have to make a Speed roll of 3+. If you fail, you'll lose 1 Might from getting your foot stuck in one of the broken floorboards hidden underneath the shitty rug, although it is easy to get out from. ]

[ man it's like a bird got in here and made a big nest out of the old bed and a bunch of pillows and a pile of mirrors or something. A nest or a fort. Anyway y'all got doves in your attic better call a dude to get rid of 'em. ]

[ ANYWAY, HERE'S A CAT CHASING AFTER A BIRD. ]

[ it is SO hard to get ahold of E in a room that he knows and you don't. doing a BUNCH of dodging and jumping over piles and leading you into broken floorboards and just in general fucking with you ]

[ It's definitely slowing Sanguine down a lot, but he's angry and determined and willing to keep going no matter what. He's like a terminator, only with more bleeding possibly. ]

[ then there's a moment when it seems like E is wide open? He's between you and a mirror (which is maybe ideal for you, mental health-wise), and standing still, and there's a straight shot from you to him. He's not even looking at you, mostly glancing from side to side a bit anxiously. Even the floor looks safe.

Clearly you should charge straight at him. ]

[ This seems like a bad plan and if he were even just a little bit less insane he'd realize that, but he's angry and hellbent on murder and yeah, he's running right for E. ]

[ at first it looks like you hit - a solid connection, even, maybe - and E's head jerks back and— ]

[ —dodges your hit almost entirely, having somehow dodged backwards out of the way (HEY, DID THE GHOSTS GIVE HIM ALL THIS BULLSHIT NINJA SKILL), and he brings his hands up and— ]

[ — grabs your arm, and you have long enough to realize you are pretty fucked before he shifts his weight and pivots and THROWS you. Behind him. Into the mirror. ]
