What: Betrayal at the House on the Game Tower

[ The game starts with you in elevators, the doors jammed shut. You can keep an eye on the city further and further below you, but there's no introduction to today's game.

It's just as well. Those of you who recognize it need no introduction to it. Those of you who don't couldn't be prepared by any host's opening spiel, anyway.

The elevator stops atop the central tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and then lurches unpleasantly, wrenching itself out of where elevators ought to go. The sudden movement jolts you, and when the doors open you spill out into a room.

Hopefully, with not too much time missing. ]

[ doesn't engage as they're moving areas, but once they're safely within the walls of the dining room, calls out from behind her: ]

It's dangerous to look away.

[ and brings down the katana in an arc across her back for 4 ]

[ If able to barely catch up, he'll snag Harpy by her hair with a hard pull backwards, his other to her throat, claws pressing. 4 ]

[ That was close-- Kaguya turns just in time, dodging (4) and making it out of the way just barely so that nothing makes contact. Immediately she swings back around in order to strike her with the shovel (2). ]

[ Harpy's katana swats away the shovel hit easily with a 7, but her struggle to break free of Zero's hold (2 just drive his claws into her neck. with a snarl, she switches her grip on the wakizashi and swings it backwards to stab at Zero's hip with a 5 ]

Don't touch him you psycho.

[With a swing of her shovel, she moves fast with her makeshift weapon in order to knock that wakizashi off it's track from hurting zero (4) before immediately shifting to attack.

How dare this person attack her unitmate. How dare she, who is so full of bloodlust and violence, think to steal even a drop more of blood when she's already destroyed so much. Which is why she'll take her blood instead, if able.

While Harpy's hands are preoccupied with her weapon and attack on Zero, Kaguya moves close and with all her might (5) buries her fangs deep into Harpy's throat to try and take a literal chunk out. ]

[ her reflexes are fast, practically unthinking; in an instant, Harpy flips her grips on both swords at once and blocks the lunge (7) by pretty much punching Kaguya in the jaw, forcing her chin up with the hilt of her katana as the wakizashi stabs a swift line towards her chest (4) ]

[ Harpy manages to connect with the side of her jaw as she shifts to try and avoid the harsher blow of the the weapon (3). The wakizashi grazes her side. There's pain, but she grits her teeth, unwilling to focus on that. Not this time. She isn't weak and she will prove that here. Thinking fast, she shifts, swinging the shovel with a blow from below to try and knock her upside the head with all her might. (4).]

[ Harpy flips the katana back to a forward grip and swings up to, easily, again, smack the hit aside with an 8, the blade of her katana catching on the neck of the shovel and pulling it further along in its own path to unbalance Kaguya with her own momentum ]

There's no need to test you any further than this. You've already failed.

[ and the katana's path reverses and arcs back down, under the shovel, a slash of 7 aimed as a disemboweling blow ]

[ She's too fast. Her eyes only have time to widen, and her shovel is too awkward to shift in time. She tries-- she does (1) but it's not enough. It cuts across her sharply and almost at once she falls to the ground, weapon clattering out of her hands.

No. No, no, no, no, no--

She'll hurt others. Their whole group will continue to bleed others dry like they aren't anything at all. Like they aren't people--

And she failed. Again.

Her vision's blurred, silent tears streaming down her cheeks as her life quickly ebbs from her. She's sorry. She's so sorry everyone. That she can't do a single thing to stop them. These monsters who treat life and people like nothing at all.

Her breath is shallow, vision blurred and darkening as her blood drains, taking with it her life. ]

[ watches on impassively as Kaguya falls, and then lashes out a final time, measured precisely to the instant Kaguya's knees hit the floor - a last, swift arc of her katana slices through her neck, and bloody clumps of hair are strewn across the floor as Kaguya's body crumples over, her head rolling off a few feet away.

without another glance, Harpy turns on her heel towards Shrike and Rei. ]

[ also that anxious tall white-haired lady

has a spear. that is now getting thrust toward him. 4 ]

[ What is it with white-haired spear wielders??

He takes a wide step before pivoting, thrusting a hand forth as well, aiming to take a firm hold of the spear's staff and yanking. (7) Another step and his other clawed hand is headed straight for her throat. (1) ]

[ FUCK why does she feel so off her game after falling through that archway—normally he wouldn’t be able to wrest it from her, but she can’t quite hang on at 6.

she does manage to get out of the way of his claws though—easily, at 5, which is honestly a surprise. ]

[ Swift and fluid as he takes the spear into his possession, Zero mirrors her previous attack right back at her with an angled thrust upward into either her chest or throat (again); wherever it reaches first. 4 ]

[ she dodges at 8 and tries to get distance to separate him from the Kaguya/Harpy throwdown. ]

At least, ah, don’t dishonor your unit’s good name by dogpiling...

As if I'd just let you go.

[ Little matters. He rushes at her again (speed 6), and once more aiming to plunge the spear through her neck. (might 8) ]

Listen, I just—

[ oof that’s rough. she backs into a stray chair at speed 3, and takes the blow with a grunt as the spear drives through just below her shoulder (3).

She looks... like she’s not doing great, as ink-black blood starts to stain her uniform around the wound. She makes a grab to knock him back and take the spear, but it’s not doing great at 2. ]

[ also TIME TO WISH UPON THIS TEAPOT????

[ Fangs grit tight in irritation. Rather than pull on the spear for himself, Zero follows her motion. Both hands take an iron grip its staff and he pushes his full weight forward against her. (6) ]
