[Perhaps Req can see it in sleep, perhaps she cannot. But any passer-by can see a vision taking shape in the dark clouds. It's Requiem, battered and bruised and held close by a pink-clad demon, and rocks are falling all around them, and as the viewer runs forward, reaches to pull them free, Requiem extends a hand of her own and pushes the viewer away. And then the rocks fall and fall and fall and eventually it goes dark]

[Munna huffs, hovering between the two prone figures]

[The scene changes, as dreams do.

Despite being crushed by rocks a minute ago, you--the viewer--you are in a massive, dark cavern, and you are not alone. There is something large is here with you--you can hear it--you can smell it. You can feel it, claws trailing down the back of your neck, barely enough to break the skin.

Even with so many eyes it's too dark to see much, but you know who it is--what it is, fiery green eyes and gleaming sharp teeth and you hold your ground, because even if you're terrified, it's still important, and you believe she'll stop.

Instead the monster continues, rips and cracks and bites at all your too many limbs and your flesh mends only to be eaten again. It's hard to keep still now as it plucks out your heart with two sharp claws, and pinches so carefully, and you--



--and everything pauses, the dark, sour mist roiling both in and out of the dream.

|this is you,| the munna is saying. You--Requiem knows this the same way one knows anything in a dream. Though, perhaps it is a question: |is this you?| ]

she just... lets it remain empty, curling up with her knees to her chest. definitely not looking at the munna. she objectively knows this thing can't actually talk, too, but it's a dream, isn't it? her subconscious is definitely all sorts of skronked up so surely it'd drive her to talk to herself like the crazy person she is. ]

... I don't know. Not-- that. I don't want to be the thing that gives her nightmares. ... s'not like I have a choice about that sort of thing, though.

[It stares back, possibly with understanding, possibly without. Lets out some other dark mist, with some other snippets--Requiem as herself, prone in a leafy grove, silent and still as the grave. Phantom faces of others--Lucifel. Aries. A tall man in Alcheme purple and a dark hood. Sea glass green splattered in red.

So many good bad dreams! Surely Requiem must be excited to be one!]

but she does kind of understand what's going on, now-- this thing affects dreams, doesn't it. either causes them, or conjures them up, but she can't imagine this weird little animal being intelligent enough to think up something so specific as her and nemesis' monstrous first meeting intentionally... so most, if not all of this, must be things nem really does dream about.

so she watches them, right eye gone entirely black in the iris, jaw and expression tight.










meanwhile in the waking world noibat is sitting on req's chest and CRYING, her trainer is DEAD HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN ]

[Munna lets Noibat cry, enjoying every bit of its delicious tears. Unfortunately tears aren't dinner, so she Yawns at it, too. Man, this is the easiest battle versus dark types it has ever had.

Anyway, it's not Munna's fault that dreams are so delicious! Or that fighting types are so weak to psychic types. Sometimes you have to follow your Nature, don't you? Why doesn't Req want to be a golbat? Other than their so-so stats and boring movesets. Maybe you should stop pressing B and evolve!]
