[ A young man wakes up in his bedroom. It just so happens that today, Day 138, is the date he will make his idol debut in Imeeji Idol Productions! Although it was ten years, three months, and two days since he was given a name, it is only today that he will be given an idol name!

What will that new name be? ]

Mm. I don't have many convictions, but... I don't like seeing people suffer, and there's no end to that, here.

Though, ah, I confess I'm not really much of a spy, I don't think.

Spies and social types are mostly useful for the reconnaissance phase. There will be a time when we need to rely less on their skills.

As you know, there are two factions. Asmodeus - Prince of Vengeance and Pythia - Prince of Lies. Both of those tend to not deal with us directly, though Asmodeus does employ some non-graduated idols if he finds them useful.

Most of our opportunity comes with the hosts - those working underneath them.

Opportunity for information, you mean?

A bit more than information.

Collaboration to some extent. We used to be able to talk to Exael - back when there were only two hosts - one per Prince.

But she doesn't seem to be answering our calls as of late.

Ah, she was... the host for the first game I was in, I think.

I suppose the, ah, producers, wouldn't want any of their people being too helpful, but... what sort of collaboration was she able to offer?

She warned us about Asmodeus recruiting ungraduated idols to his side. Edited a couple of games for our benefit. And seemed to have been building up a partnership with those working the Heaven side of the field.

Heaven was at a disadvantage, you see. With the influx of new Heaven hosts, though, I don't know if that is true anymore.

Hm... I don't really know about the numbers and never thought to ask any of the hosts what... side? they're on, but ah.

That means there's some of us working for Asmodeus?

Is that so surprising?

But... I suppose, thinking about it—I'm sure for some people, there are things to be gained in that kind of agreement.

In truth, we all have something to gain from that arrangement. Even pawns of Asmodeus would rather not be pawns of anyone.

At minimum, I suppose we all want ourselves and those we care about to be free of this place.

And while we would all be foolish to believe in wholehearted idol camaraderie and justice for all.

There's always bonding over spite and pettiness.

It's, er. Sometimes I'd prefer to be angry? But it doesn't really come easily to me.

Is that across the board? Or just anger?

Oh, um... no, it's really just getting angry.

Mostly I just, er... worry a lot, which I suppose is in part why I'm here.

Worry about what in particular? The possibilities are limitless.

Sort of, ah... well, I worry about everyone here, I suppose. Whether I'm properly supporting my unit; whether the young ones are doing alright in these circumstances; whether we can keep peace outside of games; how to do the least harm in games...
