Oh right, uhm...where I'm from, the soul has two parts? The upper soul is the part that has stuff like rational thinking and morality and all the other important bits that make you a person. The lower soul is the part that has...all the basic needs and desires, like hunger and thirst. Stuff like survival instincts.

When a person dies, the halves start to separate. The upper soul is supposed to be reincarnated and the lower soul disappears on its own over time. But sometimes, when a body isn't given proper rites or if they die violently, the lower soul stays tied to the body. And...well, since all that's left are animal instincts, it tries to fulfil those needs and desires and such despite not actually needing to? It assumes a form and roams around during the night looking for fresh blood to try and feel 'alive' again. That's a hungry ghost.

Uhm...I can see them, and Persephone told me he thinks I helped one before, but uhm. I'm not sure? I'm apprenticed to a doctor, but he's the one with more experience in this sort of thing.
