[Hesitates, then turns for the shelving along the far wall. He hooks his hand into the cabinet and pulls himself up, absently, to balance on the counter - grabs something down off the top shelf and then hops down again.]

[He brings it back over and holds it out, kind of cautious.]

[It's definitely not finished. It's also a pretty passable replica of what looks like a 1/6 scale figure of a power suit-style mech. It's sleek and slim, though the shoulders have a little bulk to them. It's made of what looks like twenty or thirty individual pieces already, each smoothed and sanded and glued into place. Only the head, torso, and right arm have been completed, and it's all plain wood, unpainted.]

[ Reaching out to touch it delicately, hesitant with how intricate it looks. ]

You aren't carving it all in one piece?

[It seems pretty sturdy? Whatever glue he used must have been pretty heavy duty. Up closer, though, Talon can see the little imperfections - too much of an indent there, sanded the wrong direction on that piece, glue leaked around the edges there.]

Nah. I remembered putting it together as a model, in a bunch of pieces. Figured, I could get the model and redo it here?

Or I could try and make em all, see if I could level up in woodworking.

Making all of the pieces from memory is impressive. I can see where you're still learning, but it's very good for learning.

You're only saying that cause you didn't see the eighty-seven thousand false starts I threw out.

How do you think anyone becomes good at something? Practice and refinement.

[ The real problem here is having to work slowly enough to avoid smashing any of his fingers while he's hammering nails in. An unfortunate built in limiter. ]

[Well, you've got some time; he can only go so fast on these knots.]

[ Enough time that it doesn't take long for him to realize it'll get boring without any conversation. He gets as far as nailing the frame for the wall together before he speaks up ]

How long does it normally take you to finish a bigger project like this?

Don't usually do em all at once, honestly. I do a little bit, then leave it and pick em up when I got free time again.
