No, it's...I just found it kind of funny they set up shop in an Immaculate temple.

...There's a religion back home called the Immaculate Order. One of the things they teach is that mortals shouldn't deal with ghosts and spirits and gods and all that by themselves. So, you know. Kind of funny the exorcists turned the temple into their place.

The other way around, actually. Sorry I wasn't clear. It's...the Realm goes conquering places, then the Order moves in with them and starts spreading their teachings and shit.

Pretty much. Not that it means a whole lot where I'm from, we spent decades trying to kick them out.

Well, yeah. Can't try to kick them out if they didn't try to move in, right?

I think there are some other reasons you could want people gone from a space... but yes, that's the easiest explanation. I just wasn't sure if it was anything else, too.

I did say they were conquerors. And 'some other reasons' is all the stuff a bloody empire does when they try to move in, really.
