[ after a nod, he punches some stuff into his phone, walks off to the mailbox, then hands Doodle a bottle of red wine while keeping a beer for himself. ]

[ follows him out, flopping down heavily on one of the cast-iron chairs. then he cracks open his beer bottle with his bare hands. ]

[flopping down in another chair and taking out his knife, using it as a corkscrew to pop the wine bottle open]

Who knows. Maybe I could, if I tried. That's the worst part.

[ just leans his head against the back of the chair with a frustrated grunt ]

[ he lifts his head again, only so he can glare at his own beer bottle like it's done something to personally offend him. then after another long stretch of quiet, he breaks the silence with: ]
