[ she's ADORABLE but also ]

"Queen?"

[ how. how much royalty is this unit going to have on it... ]

[ queen stares at hiryuu, tilting her head and meowing. she walks to the end of d.va's open palms and nearly tumbles over the edge, but she catches herself, plopping down. she eventually starts swatting at the air, because come closer. ]

[ ~~okay but consider the missed opportunity of marshmallow and cocoa tho~~ ]

She's very cute.

[ also Yona is. easily charmed by cute things. She'll stick her hand out to Queen to try to pet her. ]

[ ~~i didn't even realize! that would have been so cute.~~ ]

[ queen crooks her head back as hiryuu goes for a pet, but ultimately lets her pet her, because as soon as she's finished she's going to attempt to stand on her hind legs and paw at her hand for a sniff and a nuzzle. ]

[ she has no problems with this! nuzzles are sweet. wahhh.... ]

How big do you think she'll get?

Probably not too big. Like, maybe, ten pounds max?

How big is your pup supposed to get? And we should introduce them!

Cocoa? You know I'm really not sure.

[ 33-53 pounds. So. Not huge but not super tiny either ]

If you think she's ready, I'll go grab him.

I bet he's not going to get thaaaat big, but I think it might be easier to introduce them when they're still young.

[ she sets queen on her shoulder. ]

We'll take it slow, steady, since I don't want this going south.

All right. In that case, I'll go get him but keep him on his leash.

[ she gonna get up to go fetch a puppy ]

Are you ready to meet a new friend, Queen?

[ he cat bumps her head into the side of d.va's for a nuzzle. ]

cocoa sees the kitty and starts making anxious/excited whining noises and wiggling like crazy in her grip

--I hope that's a yes, because I'm not sure Cocoa wants to hear a no!

[ the kitten seems a bit nervous, but d.va doesn't stop down just yet. instead she's going to take a step closer to hiryuu and hold out her hand to cocoa, so he can get a sniff of the kitten's scent. queen is clearly curious about the wiggling ball of excitement, so she walks around to d.va's other shoulders and peeks out from under her hair at the dog. ]

So far so good. You guys are going to be good friends, right?

looks at d.va and barks once and then starts wiggling harder and whining at d.va with an occasional pleading look given to Hiryuu, tail waggling

LET HIM PLAAAAYYYY ]

Do you think it's okay to hold him closer, or...?

[ cocoa seems to be nothing but excited, so that's good. queen still seems hesitant, but she's starting to open up and let her curiosity get the better of her, so d.va nods. ]

Move his closer. I think she'd like to get a better look. Queen, be nice, alright, he's just an eager little cutie.

Okay. --Be gentle, Cocoa. She's smaller than you.

[ She goes ahead and moves Cocoa closer--close enough that he can finally start getting a really good sniff of her. And sniff he does--a series of surprisingly loud snuffles and snorts. For a moment, his tail waggling slows down and subsides some--but then it picks right back up, and--he makes an attempt at licking the strange new puppy. ]

Meet Cocoa, Queen. He's a good dog. [ queen doesn't seem to agree at the moment, but she's still hiding on d.va's shoulder. it takes another couple of seconds for her to move down her arm as hiryuu brings him closer. it's hard to tell if she just doesn't like the enthusiasm or if she's not sure what to do about it, but she doesn't move away as cocoa sniffs her. she does some sniffing of her own, but it's not as obvious. ]

Meow.

[ she lifts a paw and sets it on his nose to try to keep him from licking her, but that goes as well as expected, and soon she's covered in a thin layer of puppy drool. she bats at him gently, because, no, puppy, stop. no more licks!!! ]

Queen. He just likes you, is all.

Cocoa! Cats don't like to be wet...

[ This admonishment does about as much good as one would expect. He seems to think her batting at his nose is part of some new game because he's opening his mouth and trying to see if he can't get a hold of it. ]

[ bap bap bap!!! as soon as he starts attempting to nom on her paw she stands on her hind legs and uses both of her paws! ]

[ t- take this! ]

[ double the baps! double the deterrence? or probably not at this rate. ]

[ Cocoa barks--but he clearly thinks this is a FUN GAME because deterred he is not. He just keeps trying to move his head to some new angle to try to nip Puppy Queen's legs without catching her paws ]

[ it takes a bit of effort on his end, clearly, but he's eventually successful, and you can tell by how high queen jumps when he manages to nom one of her paws briefly. she lets out a howl and jumps backward, missing d.va's shoulder and landing on the floor. bristles and immediately bolts, because she no longer has the high ground!!! ]

Ah, Queen!

[ of course, she's. gone and probably hiding somewhere by now..... Cocoa... seems confused by this. where did they other puppy go they were going to play bite-paw...? ]

I'm so sorry. You don't think she's hurt do you?

[ he wasn't biting hard so she SHOULD be okay but Hiryuu gonna worry. ]

[ and she's outta here. ]

No, I don't think he hurt her. I think he just surprised her, is all. Queen, hey Queen, come back out he-

[ she pokes her head out of d.va's room to see that cocoa is still in hiryuu's arms and then she immediately comes bounding back down the hall, skidding to a stop maybe a few feet away from her. ] Meow. [ then she turns tail again and runs. ]

[ she wants to play. ]

[ Oh! Well. That's encouraging. Cocoa whines and--Hiryuu bends over to let him down. He takes off like an arrow shot from a bow after Queen. ]

Progress.

[ this is good, right? ]

[ she bolts into the workshop and jumps up onto the table and crouches reeeeally low, hoping that cocoa can't see her, so she can get a surprise attack in. ]

It looks that way! What a relief...

[ Cocoa circles the table below barking frantically and occasionally stopping to see if he can spot Queen--but no! That silly dog has DISAPPEARED somehow! Where did you go Queen!?!
