[ he gets an extra couple of seconds to notice her, since he looks absolutely out of it, but as soon as he makes eye contact - INCOMING. ]

Come here. [ she offers him a smile. ] Call it team bonding or, IDK, whatever you like, but [ pats the mattresses. ] take a seat.

[ why, yes, THEY ARE. ]

[ He definitely had a stormy expression when he walked in, but he comes over when she beckons, taking a seat among the pile of mattresses and pillows (and teammates?).

And picking up one of the stitched pillows. ]

... Did you make these?

[ this. is. still. embarrassing!!! ]

I did. [ looks aside, cheeks red. ] But it's nothing. I mean, ok, not it's not. I wanted it to be something nice for you guys, and I thought we could all hang out on your pile, shoot the shit, eat snacks, play games, and just be... close. [ this particular bit is a touch awkward to say to king, specifically, but shhhh. this is fine. ]

[ If it's awkward, he doesn't notice. He's busy running his finger over the stitching quietly.

At length; ]

They're great.

[ she's going to suck it up for the sake of this! ]

I'm glad you like them. I'm going to keep practicing because I actually have an idea for something~ else~

[ she tugs her pillow close and idly starts tracing the stitching. ] I guess so. I was in a room with Doodles and Persephone. Persephone and I traded the crown and collar back and forth pretty much the entire game. He didn't make me do anything crazy, but, ah, one turn, after I had gotten a ring I got even more competitive... and then we broke our table and spilled everything everywhere, but the fight, if it can even be called that, came and went.

I'm sorry about what happened to Yugi. [ sets a hand on his knee and stares at him like so what are you going to do. ]

[ He nods as she talks, the relief plain on his face that things didn't go worse, and it was a (mostly) harmless game.

At the last comment, though, his expression clouds a little. ]

[ It sounds genuine, at least. ]

[ she sits up. ]

He gives her a surprised look, but it morphs into something grateful after a moment. ]
