They all died at some point or another.

Tatsuya and Phoenix were killed by their boyfriend--literal backstabbing happened.

I don't know what happened to Nine-Nine.

Thorn was riddled with bullet holes and still wanted to fight the person who killed him before he was healed, so I had to knock him out and got him healed.

Surely being killed by one's own boyfriend was a surprise, and - why would Thorn refuse healing?

Because he was so pissed with a damaged pride that the idea that he would die refused to take root?

... and it seems like getting killed by our boyfriends is a theme.

No. Here, there's been a couple of instances of us killing each other, but we weren't exactly sane at the time...
