Nothing happened to me really. But this time, I do not think I could have played with no regrets. I could not find a way to do so.

What happened?

99 picked a fight with Duality. He said it was because Duality agreed, but Duality told me he didn't agree at all. They didn't do anything too bad before 99 left, but before he did, he said "The point of the game is to not be careful. You risk making it to endgame ignoring it." Duality mentioned that he was worried about the graying again so it made more sense then.

And you were there for the tunnels.

The second time, when we split up with Red, we ended back at the tunnels, and there were a whole lot of people there . . . Red was looking for Nemesis, and we found her, but she also "had to kill someone". She would kill anyone who got in her way if it meant winning.

If I gave her the gun, she said "I won't kill anyone who doesn't get in between me and the one I need to kill. I promise. If you're going to deny me that, then you're telling me I should just let my unitmate's murder go unpunished." And I thought about what 99 said too . . . I didn't know how to think about any of that. I didn't know what to do either.

But then I saw Whisky also killed you.

[Thinks on those words for a long moment, trying to figure out the best way to untangle that to the root of the problem]

What would you have regretted if you had given Red the gun?

Helping someone be killed.

And if you hadn't given Red the gun?

More people being killed.

[pauses]

And becoming a hypocrite.

How does that make you a hypocrite?

If I kept playing, what if I ended up having to kill someone, too? Because someone on our team died? What if I got so angry, I didn't know what else to do? Or if I didn't kill anyone, wouldn't everyone on our team stay hurt? Or what if we become gray again?

What if killing someone is the right option this time?

[Shifts so that he's sitting facing her and reaches out to place a hand on her shoulder]

You have to decide what you're willing to live with.

If not playing with no regrets, then what is the option with least regrets. Something that you would choose every time.

. . . that is the problem, I do not know what I would choose every time. I am still thinking about it.

Even so, I had to pick quickly, and so I was just going to give the gun to her.

So your gut instinct was to minimize the damage to one person, even though Red did blackmail you for it. You don't see that as more of a problem?

It's not an easy position to be in. Obviously Red cares about you and will protect you.

Just don't let her use you to further her own agenda in the process.
