Joker: new girl's just relieved to have missed the game? maybe? still figuring her out

Maki: I need to talk to Yasuragi still. He seemed like he was in pretty bad shape, but I don't know what happened there.
Maki: Intensity's better now that his head's in one piece, but I think he's doing the thing where he pretends dying repeatedly was all fine and according to expectations, so I've been keeping an eye on him. At least it seems like some of the rest of future is now is okay, so he only has so much fussing to do.
Maki: I bullied Mars a bit more.
Maki: And I talked to 99. If he shows up, let me know, I might have a present for him later.
Maki: Things are weird with a few people. But that probably couldn't be avoided.
Maki: It can always have been worse.

Joker: good point. worse always can happen later
Joker: i think i'm getting some deets from Sunshine on what happened between Yasuragi and Thorn anyway. i'll pass along whatever i learn there
Joker: but just how many times HAS Intensity died in this place?
Joker: and should I make a mental note to avoid him picking a fight with me for the next little while since his head was apparently in pieces?

Maki: I don't know how many times he's died, actually. Too many.
Maki: I'd appreciate you avoiding stupid fights with him in general.

Joker: that request is impossible unless you specify the kind of stupid
Joker: as we are both stupid and both enjoy fighting for stupid reasons

Maki: Don't get in physical fights where you knock him unconscious.
Maki: Don't take him at his word when he tells you his feelings or his reasons for doing things. Assume he's a person with normal human feelings who is just terrible at communicating them.
Maki: Don't escalate things until you're pretty sure he has some sort of terrible plot you're going to need to stop.
Maki: Don't start something because you feel like you need to prove yourself, or let him do that, either.
Maki: And I don't think it's likely anyway, but don't get into any kind of fight about me.

Joker: so what you really mean is Don't Fight Him At All
Joker: well, what I can promise is I won't throw the first punch
Joker: and if he pulls something like he did in the last fight--overloading a golf cart into a head-on collision with a tree that I had to get us out of
Joker: I make no promises about not knocking him out

Maki: If you don't have any reasons to fight him that aren't stupid, then yeah, don't fight him at all.
Maki: He's not going to try to run you both into a tree totally unprovoked.

Joker: idk he gets really nutty when he knows he's losing
Joker: but I'll try not to instigate anything, anyway

Maki: I don't know. Like I said, things are weird.
Maki: A bunch of people I care about killed other people I care about.
Maki: None of it was exactly a surprise, and I'm not sure I can really blame any of them, but...
Maki: At least I got X out alright, but that was weird in different ways.

Maki: He stopped me from killing Doodleman after he attacked him.
Maki: And kept telling me that killing should be a last resort, or trying to stop me from fighting when I started to.
Maki: And I would have it a lot more if he wasn't there.
Maki: I also didn't tell him I'd killed someone before we met up.

Joker: does he know about your background...?

Maki: Yes.
Maki: I told him right away.
Maki: And he got a memory where I explained even more about it than I knew before.

Joker: that plus the fact that it was a kind of kill or be killed game...

Maki: I'm not really sure how it made me feel.
Maki: It's not like he's wrong that we could have gotten through some of that without killing. I mean, we did.
Maki: And mostly he just... believes I'm a good person.

Joker: or i should say, dividing people between arbitrary labels like "good" and "bad" is stupid to begin with
Joker: but it's not like you were wrong to think Best Defence Is A Good Offence in a game like that, either?
Joker: and idk, it sounds to me like you're upset about it, but I could be wrong

Maki: I'm not upset about what he did.

Joker: then upset because you're bothered by what he said?

Joker: sucks, either way.
Joker: especially on top of friends killing friends thing

Maki: It's probably unavoidable, when I know this many people.
Maki: When people start killing each other there are only so many possible combinations.

Joker: it might be unavoidable, but you can still say it sucks when it happens
Joker: though what also sucks is they have to figure it out between themselves...
