I dunno, he's just... Encouraging bad behavior. I think. Not that I can complain, I suppose. It's just openly the opposite of how most people treat me.

I just don't like being treated delicately, like I'm fragile and apt to break at any moment.

Ah... yeah, it is sort of a broad question, isn't it. But your answer makes sense. I guess I just want to get to know you better and feel like maybe I didn't take the right approach when you arrived...?

I mean I was having a hard time dealing with the fact that I actually wasn't feeling anything, and it was a bit frustrating the way that... not just you, but a couple of people... kind of took that to mean that I was hiding my feelings.

That's how it felt, anyway. Of course I can't read your mind to know what you were thinking.

So, basically... I've been sort of frustrated and hurt in the past by other members of our unit sort of, um, refusing to communicate when it comes to feelings. It's less that I didn't actually believe you about not feeling anything, and more that I just really, really wanted you to know that when you did have something to share... I'd listen?

Obviously without that background, I'm sure it came off differently, though.

It's a little hard to... uh... you know. Reconcile those things, I guess. I mean I get it. A place like this, we've got to communicate effectively in order to avoid unnecessary things, but sometimes you just will misunderstand each other.

[Shrugs. He's not too upset about it anymore, anyway.]
