...and he was back in the morning, as promised. Probably made breakfast, then disappeared again for a while to go drinking, then came back with Kit to get some sleep.
It's been A Time, but he really has been trying not to — worry anyone. There's just this nagging little voice in the back of his head that keeps yelling at him any time he so much as considers disappearing without notice.
